Meeting #7 of the 2018-2019 School Year—Teacher Panel Session

In collaboration with Harker FEM club, WiSTEM hosted a panel of female Upper School STEM teachers, Ms. Datar, Ms. King, and Ms. Radice. They discussed the different workplaces they've experienced, from Yahoo to tiny start-ups, from supportive female bosses and professors to sexist interviewers and harassers. Ms. Radice pointed out that though her freshman physics class had about 40:60 ratio of girls to buys, she was the only woman in her senior physics class. The panel also answered members' questions about the evolution of sexism in the workplace and the conflict between speaking up and facing repercussions.
