Vision Statement

We envision a world in which everyone is not only aware of the global impact of STEM but is also encouraged to pursue scientific interests regardless of gender in a respectful and unbiased community.

Mission Statement

The purpose of WiSTEM is:

To foster the interests of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by inviting guest lecturers, organizing activities led by women to engage youth and the Harker community in STEM, and creating a STEM-based network of representative mentors and Harker alumni.
To empower and mentor future professional women in STEM disciplines.
To increase accessibility to education, support, and resources in STEM locally and internationally.
To initiate discussions, raise awareness about, and actively confront disparities in treatment and opportunities among genders in the workplace and academic institutions.
To showcase the scientific endeavors of Harker students in involved, community-wide events.

We aim to embody individuality, intellectual curiosity, and respect, thus promoting leadership and service to fulfill our goals at the personal, local, and global levels.
