CO-PRESIDENTS
SAHNGWIE YIM
Sahngwie is a senior and is serving as one of WiSTEM’s presidents this year. Her favorite part of WiSTEM is inspiring young students all over the world to pursue STEM and seeing their excitement at the Research Symposium and STEM Buddies. She is interested in biology and genetics, and enjoys crocheting, ice skating, and singing in her free time. A fun fact about Sahngwie is that she grew up in Illinois!
LINDA ZENG
Linda is a junior and is serving as one of WiSTEM’s presidents this year. She enjoys building and being a part of a community that truly supports and inspires one another. Her favorite STEM subject is computer science, and outside of WiSTEM she enjoys dancing, gymnastics, writing, painting, and traveling. A fun fact about her is that she has freckles in her eyes!

ASHLEY MO
Ashley is a junior and serves as one of WiSTEM’s Vice Presidents of Internal Affairs. She loves taking part in the STEM buddies program and being able to inspire the younger generation. She enjoys chemistry and biology, and her hobbies include playing golf and hanging out with friends. A fun fact about Ashley is that she has a dog named Sandy!
KAITLYN SU
Kaitlyn is a senior and serves as one of WiSTEM’s Vice Presidents of Internal Affairs. Her favorite part of the WiSTEM program is STEM Buddies, and her favorite STEM subject is engineering. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and doing random crafts. When Kaitlyn was a little kid, she wanted to grow up and become a duck character named Quack from the show Peep and the Big Wide World!
SOPHIA ZHU
Sophia is a senior and is one of WiSTEM’s Vice Presidents of External Relations. Her favorite part of WiSTEM is working with everyone on the symposium and bringing STEM opportunities to more people. She enjoys engineering, as well as photography, walking, and napping. A fun fact about Sophia is that she’s really good at catching bugs!
TANVI SIVAKUMAR
Tanvi is a junior and serves as one of WiSTEM’s Vice Presidents of External Relations. She loves being able to connect with women in different communities through initiatives such as WISER. Her favorite STEM subject is biology and her hobbies include baking, watercolor, and listening to music. A fun fact about Tanvi is that she loves ice!

ANNABEL HUANG
Annabel is a sophomore and is a STEM Buddies Director. She enjoys working with younger kids in STEM buddies and seeing their reactions to science experiments / activites. Her favorite STEM subject is Psychology, and her hobbies are playing volleyball and badminton and baking/cooking. A fun fact about her is she loves twizzlers and twix!
SRISHTI DHAWAN
Srishti is a sophomore and is a STEM Buddies Director. She is passionate about WiSTEM’s mission of encouraging younger girls to pursue STEM fields and fostering a more inclusive learning environment for children regardless of their gender. Her favorite STEM subjects are physics and biology, and she enjoys playing soccer with her club team, engaging in lab research, and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip!
ANIKA BASU
Anika is a sophomore and is serving as one of WiSTEM’s Outreach Coordinators. In addition to the Research Symposium itself, the preparation and time spent with peers leading up to the event created some of her favorite memories. She enjoys computer science, as well as playing jazz piano, listening to music, and watching movies with her family. A fun fact about her is that she did the cha-cha slide with the prime minister of Australia!
TRISHA SHIVAKUMAR
Trisha is a sophomore and is one of WiSTEM’s Outreach Coordinators. Her favorite part of the program is being a part of a supportive community of young women who continue to fuel their common love of STEM. She enjoys biology, reading, writing, and making gifts for her friends. A fun fact about Trisha is that she really loves penguins!
JOYCE ZHANG
Joyce is a sophomore and is WiSTEM’s Director of Communications. Her favorite part of WiSTEM is being able to increase the younger generation’s exposure to areas of STEM and foster their interest in science through the STEM Buddies program. Her favorite STEM subject is chemistry and she enjoys doing art. A fun fact about Joyce is that she has a bunny named Macaroni
LAYA SUNKARA
Laya is a sophomore and is serving as WiSTEM’s Director of Advocacy, specializing in media projects. Her favorite aspect of the program is being able to organize the research symposium, and outside of WiSTEM she enjoys cooking, baking, singing, writing short stores, and sleeping. Her favorite STEM subject is biology, and a fun fact about Laya is that she has watched Crazy Rich Asians eight times!
CELINA XU
Celina is a junior and serves as WiSTEM’s Director of Advocacy, specializing in community outreach. She loves fostering an interest in science among younger students through WiSTEM’s STEM Buddies program. Her favorite STEM subject is physics, and enjoys fencing, hiking, baking, and trying new restaurants. A fun fact about Celina is that she has made tiramisu three times!
