The Wisters program, which connects an upperclassman to a freshman for guidance regarding opportunities in high school, was launched. Members were also invited to attend the STEM Buddies event at the Harker preschool and a Cancer Walk at the Guadalupe River Park. The officers also asked for sweatshirt design submissions before talking about science opportunities, such as NCWIT and Synopsys. The meeting concluded with an experiment featuring dancing raisins, where the reaction between vinegar and baking soda created air bubbles on the raisins’ surfaces, changing their density and making them appear to “dance.” Prizes were also given to those who won the Engineering Challenge from Meeting #1.
