Club Meetings

WiSTEM meetings are held in Ms. Chetty's room (Nichols 332) on B Days from 12:50 – 1:20 p.m. Our meetings feature a wide range of activities, such as gender discussions, event planning, and fun STEM experiments. All are welcome to attend! While Harker continues the online learning format, WiSTEM meetings are held in Ms. Chetty's Zoom room.

STEM Buddies

STEM Buddies is WiSTEM’s partnership with the lower school and preschool campuses that encourages young students to pursue STEM. Founded in 2014, the program happens three times a year (twice on other campuses, once at the Research Symposium) as WiSTEM members visit and lead engaging, educational activities.

Research Symposium

One of the biggest Harker events of the year, the annual Research Symposium features keynote speakers, student research presentations, poster sessions, interactive corporate displays, panels, and workshops. WiSTEM plays a major role in organizing and preparing for the event. This year's Research Symposium was originally scheduled to be on Saturday, April 11th, 2020. Unfortunately, the event has been canceled due to COVID-19.

WISER

Women’s Institute of Secondary Education & Research (WISER) is an organization that provides healthcare, education, and housing to girls with impoverished families in rural Kenya. Every year, WiSTEM fundraises over $3000 to support WISER's initiatives. The beneficiary of our funding is Hilary, a second-year student at WISER and an ardent physics whiz.

Club week

Every year, WiSTEM utilizes our Club Week by hosting school-wide activities and fundraisers to promote our mission statement. Throughout the week, events include boba and food sales, keynote speakers, movie screenings, discussions, and more. This year's Club Week will most likely be in November.
